RECRUITING FOR A COMPANY THAT DELIVERS

Category News

BEING an estate agent is not quite as easy as some may think – the property market can be very tough, one has to be in the thick of ongoing negotiations, and salary is commission-based. That said, there is much that makes the job attractive.

For one thing, there is flexibility, allowing one to control one’s hours. Plus there is the enjoyment of personal interaction, marketing and being self-employed. And, most certainly in the case of the Dormehl Phalane Property Group, there is a family network of caring colleagues for support.

The group, formed by Owen Dormehl in Durban, under his own moniker, in 2009, and given its new title when Owen went into partnership with Daniel (Tau) Phalane in March 2107, is growing at a rapid rate.

The first Dormehl branch opened in Pinetown, with partner Kevin Delport and Dormehl’s wife, Amanda, contributing to its success. Within a month, eight experienced estate agents had become part of the team.

Dormehl, a Port Natal High School alumnus, next opened his head office in Westville’s Church Road – and within 18 months Dormehl had seen 34 franchises spring up. The company now has more than 70 franchises countrywide, a new branch scheduled to open in May in Heidelberg.

With all this growth, the company is now recruiting more agents, its directors pointing out that the Dormehl Phalane Property Group is setting new standards in the industry with cutting-edge technology and expertise in residential sales, commercial and industry properties, rentals and property management.

Among its advantages is that the group’s agents make use of MyCe, an innovative, online tracing portal which some have rated as the best thing since sliced bread, among them Owen Dormehl.

MyCe was developed by the Johannesburg-based Dracore, a company specialising in data solutions and software development, and providing solutions to a multitude of industries.

It helps the Dormehl Phalane Property Group’s agents get a headstart with a pre-populated data base. It also helps them to get more listings, dominate in their areas, get referred business, and build canvassing lists in seconds.

Anyone keen on joining the Dormehl Phalane Property Group is asked to phone one of these numbers for further information: Durban – (031) 784 6262, Gauteng – (012) 942 8555 or Cape Town – (021) 554 5544.
